Defense Cybersecurity Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business founded in 2020 to solve a specific problem: the Defense Industrial Base needed a firm that would bring real compliance programs, not checkbox stamps. Six years and dozens of active engagements later, that is still the only thing we do.

Built by Someone Who Has Stood the Watch

Vince Scott founded DCG in 2020 after a career that spans three decades of defense and intelligence work. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1989, served as a Navy cryptologist and information warfare officer, and built a post-service career at the intersection of cybersecurity and federal compliance.

He served as CIO of the OSU Multispectral Laboratory, as CISO for a defense contractor, and in senior cybersecurity roles at Procter & Gamble. He has served as Deputy for the Defense Industrial Base nationally for InfraGard.

Today, Vince serves as the Deputy for the Defense Industrial Base sector with FBI InfraGard, and is deeply involved in all aspects of the CMMC ecosystem. That is not a credential on a slide deck. It shapes how DCG reads what the assessment objectives actually require.

He built DCG because he believes the small manufacturer building parts for a destroyer deserves a real answer, not a checkbox. That belief is the operating model of the firm.

DCG is a small firm by design. Every engagement runs a Certified CMMC Assessor or Professional paired with a technical writer. That combination produces higher-quality documentation at lower cost than larger teams. We have put the entire firm through the CCP certification course.

Certified CMMC Assessors

CCAs on staff who conduct gap assessments, mock assessments, and serve as Counsel for the Defense during live C3PAO audits. The same people who run your mock assessment are qualified to run the real one.

CMMC Professionals and Technical Writers

Every CCA is paired with a CCP or technical writer for documentation work. The documentation is where the certification lives, and it is the part of the program DCG specializes in.

Midwatch Operations

A dedicated team operates the Midwatch enclave -- handling monitoring, patch management, incident response, and continuous compliance for every client environment. US-based. Always on.
